Gambia is a West African country that is land locked by Senegal and has a very narrow Atlantic coastline. The country is known for its abundant wildlife, nature reserves and national parks.

Economically the country is heavily dependent on agriculture and this sector supports about 75 percent of the country’s population. The country produces and exports peanuts, brewed/baked goods and leather.

A lot of tourism does take place in Gambia but this is mainly due to their bird life. Birders from all over the world flock to Gambia as the avian fauna is accessible and spectacular.
